The Training

The craft of the stage,
for the people who speak.

Voice, presence and communication training for the academic world. The tools an actor spends a career building, brought to researchers and professionals who present their work.

01

The Idea

▦ Image — a workshop in progress

Why a trainer

An actor rehearses for years what a speaker is asked to do in fifteen minutes.

A good talk is not only good content. It is a voice that carries, a body that is present, a structure an audience can follow. These are not gifts. They are craft, and craft can be learned.

I bring three decades of theatre and film into the seminar room. Not to turn researchers into actors, but to give them the same reliable tools: breath, voice, presence, and a clear shape for what they have to say.

02

The Workshops

01

Voice & Body Language

Communicating with presence and impact

How you sound and how you stand. Breath, volume, the pause, eye contact and gesture: the instrument behind every talk.

02

Presentation Skills for Scientists

Structure, story and clarity for research talks

How to build a scientific talk an audience can follow, from a strong opening through a clear spine to a landing that stays. Written for researchers whose work deserves a wider room.

03

Make an Impact

Voice, body and presence in the room

Voice, body and presentation brought together and rehearsed in the room, ready for the next talk you give.

04

Storytelling for Scientific Presentations

Research as narrative, without losing rigour

The techniques writers and dramatists use to pull an audience through a story — adapted for research talks. Keeps your data intact, makes it land.

05

Mastering the Unexpected

When technology fails, questions bite, lines vanish

Live events never go to plan. This workshop builds the actor’s reflex for the moment things slip — and the room stays with you.

06

Conference Presentation

Keynotes, panels, Q&A — the formats that matter

The specific requirements of conference-format talks: the keynote opening, the panel exchange, the Q&A session. Rehearsed against each format, not one generic talk.

07

Teaching Voice

For lecturers who hold a room every week

Voice, breath and stamina for the people who stand in front of students for hours. The technique that lets you teach without losing your voice.

08

One to One

Private, tailored to exactly where you are

A series of private sessions designed around the specific voice, body or presence work you need, at your own pace and in your own confidence.

03

Where I Work

Projects and workshops across Germany,
and beyond.

I hold workshops and projects at universities across Germany, and have been invited to collaborate with universities in Portugal, France, Belgium and England, with participants from all over the world.

Who I Work With

Anyone with something worth saying and an audience worth reaching.

My participants are PhD candidates, researchers, postdocs, professors and professionals from outside the academia who present their work: at conferences, in lectures, in front of funding panels, in everyday meetings.

05

The Approach

What is not rehearsed will not appear.

An actor never meets a role for the first time on opening night. A talk deserves the same. My workshops are a rehearsal room: a place to try, to get honest feedback, and to try again, until the voice and the presence are ready before they are needed.

Much of this training takes place with impulsplus, where I am part of the team.

Voice & Body Language

Guido was really exceptional! This has really been one of the best workshops I have participated in and I really learned a lot. He created a great atmosphere and connection between participants. And just from seeing how he performed one could learn a lot how to use one own’s body and voice effectively.

Voice & Body Language

Guido is such an inspiring teacher. The workshop was very challenging but I had such a great time and am leaving with so many tools to improve. I have rarely felt so enthusiastic to apply the content to not only to my work but also to my everyday life.

Voice & Body Language

The coach’s attitude — entertaining, friendly and still precise in pointing out my own potential for improvement.

Guido made all the workshop really interactive and dynamic, he kept our interest up all the entire time.

Presentation Skills for Scientists

Presentation Skills for Scientists

I finished all the JuDocS mandatory courses now and this trainer was simply the best. Not because the other trainers were bad, just because he was exceptionally good. He was friendly, enthusiastic, entertaining and empathic, all the while giving really good constructive criticism and being very professional. His way to teach was very interactive, his course well-structured and time passed fast.

Presentation Skills for Scientists

The trainer Mr Guido Molina was incredibly engaged, passionate and competent. This course was amazing, thank you.

Presentation Skills for Scientists

Dear Guido, you and your workshop are amazing! The way you convey your knowledge is stunning. You fill the stage without being obtrusive. It is a pity that the workshop was only for one day, because I am sure I could learn much more.

Participant · Universität Münster · December 2024

Make an Impact

He has a lot of knowledge about presenting and is equally enthusiastic to share and teach about. He is also very great at presenting itself. And a very nice person.

Doctoral candidate · TU Darmstadt, Ingenium Program · 2021

Make an Impact

The trainer had a positive energy and was very engaging. He also gave a lot of individual feedback. It was a very small course, therefore we really had a personal coaching.

Storytelling for Scientific Presentations

Thank you again for a fantastic workshop. I really enjoyed both the structure and the content. I have learnt a lot and this gave me a fresh view on the topic and my presentation I was giving few days later. I definitely used some of the tips — and since I received a positive feedback I think I can say I’ve made my homework well!

Mastering the Unexpected

The content was very interesting, and Mx Molina presented us several techniques for improving our communication skills (valuable teachings not only for academia but also for other contexts). I’m also very pleased with the instructor’s approach and feedback during the day — always friendly, respectful, objective and constructive.

Mastering the Unexpected

I would like to thank Mx Molina for the excellent workshop. It was very instructive, useful, light-hearted, and fun. I would love to take it again and will surely recommend it to my colleagues.

Mastering the Unexpected

I loved the energy and the will of the trainer to share and convey everything he could in the amount of time he was offered. I would be absolutely interested in participating in more talks given by the trainer.

Mastering the Unexpected

The trainer did a really great job teaching us. He established a good working atmosphere which supported the learning process. The workshop was well structured, exercises were summarized and reflected with us participants. Overall, it was a really good workshop!

Mastering the Unexpected

Amazing, how he could motivate a room full of introverts and have everyone feel comfortable. Thank you for the inspiration to radiate all of one’s energy!

I could answer this in terms of conventional presentation skills — structuring, voice usage, body language, clarity — it was incredibly useful on those points. But ultimately: I learned to see the power and the beauty of my colleagues (and myself) as researchers and human beings. I really will never forget this.

Egal was, solange Guido Molina der Trainer ist!!!

Conference Presentation

In fact, the talk went beyond my expectations. Guido’s background was perfect to me because he knows techniques to improve our confidence and image in front of an audience when giving a talk. On the other hand, I was a complete noob so all knowledge he delivered to us was extremely valuable.

Doctoral candidate · Universität Konstanz, Academic Staff Development · WS 2024/25

Conference Presentation

Throughout the course, I learned many things, but the most significant for me was gaining confidence in myself through the opportunities to present and actively participate. Additionally, observing and evaluating my classmates was very enriching, as it allowed me to reflect and learn from their approaches. I also found the techniques developed during the course to be extremely useful and applicable.

Positive, I would recommend this workshop to everyone from students to professors.
