The Path

A path that rarely
ran straight.

From a youth in Colombia during the years of armed conflict, through more than thirty years on stage, film and television, to a fresh start in Germany and a new life as a trainer.

Bogotá, the beginnings

“Theatre gets under the skin and moves you. It saved my life.”

My youth in the Colombia of the 1980s and 90s was strongly shaped by the armed conflict of those years. When I think today about acting and what it meant to me as a young person, I reach a clear conclusion: it saved my life.

I began early, on stage, later in front of the camera. At the Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá I learned the craft. In more than three decades as an actor in theatre, television and film, I gathered my own experience and learned from great masters.

2015, the fresh start

In 2015, at the age of 41, I suddenly found myself in Germany. Despite every difficulty, I continued on my path. New questions arose. Which skills can I pass on as an actor? Who benefits from my knowledge and experience?

The answers came step by step. In 2017 I began full-time training as a theatre educator (BuT) at the Off-Theater Neuss. Today I combine four threads: the stage, directing, theatre education, and the work that has become my focus, training academics and professionals to speak with impact.
